Residential Fire Damage in West Jefferson

There was extensive fire damage in this home in West Jefferson. The demo included removal of fire damage drywall and studs. Our SERVPRO construction team replaces the drywall, painted and sealed wall and new flooring was installed in damaged areas. Most of the electrical system needed replaced. In addition to the major restoration on the interior of this home there was also exterior damage that was repaired.

Different Types of Smoke

Wet Smoke – Plastic and Rubber

• Low heat, smoldering, pungent odor, sticky, smeary. Smoke webs are more difficult to clean

Dry Smoke – Paper and Wood

• Fast burning, high temperatures, heat rises therefore smoke rises.

Protein Fire Residue – Produced by evaporation of material rather than from a fire

• Virtually invisible, discolors paints and varnishes, extreme pungent odor.
